M6-7+ EQ, Kileaua area of Big Island, August 27-30 2018. Just too many hints this volcano is still ‘cooking.”‘
With an ORL anomoly showing for the area on Quakewatch, plus the increase of deformation due to Hurricane Lane it shows a very dynamic situation. Plus with the last day(Aug 26th) of KIndex at K4, drop to normal, then a ramping up again of K Index as coronal hole faces earth, and given the vertical GPS peaking on the on HVO (as if the volcano was restless), I dont think this is an end state of this eruption. There was a significant microrads increase in the electric tilt on Aug 25th..likely due to the low pressure provided by the Hurricane as it approached. This has now started to drop, but still shows how sensative this geologic feature is to atmospheric pressure. The chances the current lack of earthquakes will continue, with the Disaster Prediction App showing the ramp up in solar-driven energy coupling this month to a 5.0, expect at least one significant quake thru the end of the month.

And the RAIN fall from Hurricane Lane can also increase the chances of a more major and explosive earthquake. It takes several days for water to accumulate or flow into the water table, increasing its height. And its reaching the water table that seems to cause issues with Kileaua. Just wanted to add that factoid to the reasoning.
