Forecast: 5.5 to 6.5 in the center of the Gulf of California / Cortez Sea 23°44’38.35″N 108°44’27.13″W 2020-06-28 to 2020-07-07 less then 70km depth 200km/125mls radius.

    Observed: M 5.8 – 18km SSE of Lone Pine, CA 2020-06-24 17:40:49 (UTC) 36.447°N 117.975°W 4.7 km depth
    M 5.4 – 4 km S of San Miguel Figueroa, Mexico 2020-06-24 02:33:21 (UTC) 15.746°N 96.404°W 10.0 km depth

Thoughts: My location center is larger then normal for me, but will capture most of the area’s 5.5+ events that have occurred along the plate boundary over the last ten years. My center point is also nearly equally spaced between the two above observed quakes. Along with the huge M7.4 in Santa María Zapotitlán, S. Mexico on 2020-06-23 as successfully forecast by BeccasArt, and a 6.1 that struck on 2020-05-22 160km/100mls to the SSE of my center point; I added some more radial distance to capture anything just beyond the 6.1 quake and the 7.4 adds a bit of unknown to the forecast location. None of the quakes in the last ten years have been deeper then 37km. 70km seems to be a common depth point defining the deepest range for “shallow” quakes as defined by the USGS.
