New round of planetary seismic activity appears to have began with the M 6.1 – 186km E of Taron, Papua New Guinea 2020-05-07 11:21:19 (UTC) 4.454°S 154.713°E 466.2 km depth. The depth makes this an M7.0. Just before this deep quake another one struck days earlier. M 6.8 – 205km NW of Saumlaki, Indonesia 2020-05-06 13:53:56 (UTC) 6.795°S 129.861°E 107.0 km depth. The depth makes this one a 7.0 as well. I will be using these two, to watch the flow activity away from them.

A rare and hard to find quake:

    Magnitude: 4.9
    Region: NORTHWEST TERRITORIES, CANADA
    Date time: 2020-05-06 15:55:04.2 UTC
    Location: 60.77 N 105.28 W
    Depth: 13 km

This is the Canadian quake I was looking for (https://quakewatch.net/forums/topic/counselor-5-3-2020-2200-utc-california/#post-8790). It struck surprisingly quick. It was the largest quake to strike in 2+ years, if you do not count the few on the west coast on the Alaskan pan-handle or the ones that struck off shore in the Pacific in Canadian waters. This one was reported by 11 stations including the Salt Lake City Station, so that rules out a fabricated quake by some bored Molson-Beer drinking Canadian PhD Geologist Candidates. LOL

Now, what does it mean? I really don’t know. But I will guess that we will see more 4.4 to 5.4 energy inland from the coast in the central areas of North America in the next two weeks. Normally this energy would indicate something in the 6.0 range struck to the west of it in the last 14 days. So I look back a few days and see these and potential “suspects” from the same wave of energy dropping of seismic energy as it rolled along.

    Start: M 6.6 – 209km W of Chichi-shima, Japan 2020-04-18 08:25:37 (UTC) 27.140°N 140.106°E 453.8 km depth. The depth makes this a M7.7.

    About 4700km/2900mls 9 days later

    First movement: M 4.8 – 103km NNE of Adak, Alaska 2020-04-27 04:13:26 (UTC) 52.735°N 176.059°W 224.0 km depth. The depth makes this a M5.2.

    About 4200km/2600mls 9 days later

    Second and perhaps final movement: M 4.9 – NORTHWEST TERRITORIES, CANADA, 2020-05-06 15:55:04 (UTC) 60.77 N 105.28 W

Some forecast will be made in new topics/threads.

More deep seismic energy, and this type of energy rolls out and away.

    Observed:

    First came the M 6.5 2895 km north of Whangarei May 12 2020 22:40:52 (UTC) Lat -10.70 Long 165.93 33 km depth https://www.geonet.org.nz/earthquake/2020p359320

    Then came the M 6.6 – 173km SSE of Lata, Solomon Islands 2020-05-12 22:41:12 (UTC) 12.106°S 166.569°E 112.4 km depth. The depth makes this a M 6.8. https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/us70009f12/executive.

These are two different quakes and that is why i have linked my source data. And shows significant energy.
