The M 5.2 Southeast of Grenada at 03:26:52 UTC today, may produce a positive or negative result, for prospects of notable seismic activity occurring in the region of Ventura, California !. All now depends on weather repercussions occur within the next few days, from usual suspects like 150’E New Britain… Kushiro canyon region, Hokkaido… or Mindanao, Philippines. If activity occurs at these locations, then Ventura, CA is still in the loop !
My first post above relates to Significant ACE contact at 20:00 UTC 5th April, http://www.timeanddate.com “Moon Light World Map”… moonrise on Windward Islands !. Also moonset on Kyushu, Japan, which had a 4.1 event at 17:53:30 UTC today. Grenada and Kyushu, both in contact on the 5th, both occurred on the 7th !

During the last Full Moon, between times 14:22:06 UTC – 14:24:25 UTC 9th March, it was sunrise on Parkfield, California !
Decided to pass a little time today by giving my computer a spring clean. I was using lens cleaner, and spent nearly two minutes trying to remove a spot off my model screen below Africa, then realised it was Prince Edward Island… amazing that I actually hit anything here !
Prince Edward Island… if I recall correctly, an old nemesis of Counselor’s 🙂

This relates to a region between Ventura, California and Buttonwillow, West of Bakersfield. Nearest ephemeral contact is Anza, Southern California. Without this contact, or more significant data… my base line estimate would be mag 4+. If others had data that fits this picture, estimate would increase accordingly… sorry, all I can contribute at present.
As a side note, two Phi contacts in ACE data today at 13:23 UTC – 13:48 UTC… anybody see these ?. The times coincide with SLT threshold, followed by sunrise on coordinates 122’45’W – 38’05’N San Francisco Bay area… possible 3+ in the next 5 days !
Score: 0115 pts115 ptslesterApril 6, 2020 at 1:53 am #8620Bit of a late post for me in the UK, but ACE made significant contact at exactly 20:00 UTC 5th April. This placed the sun on longitude 119’23’W, which gives a starting point in Ventura, California, and then North through Nevada. As I mentioned before, my method is regarded as unconventional, but I nearly bagged a 7.5 in Russia with it… and it did get me a “credible” hit on Mt Ebeko volcano lol.
ACE is a satellite designed to monitor the sun… but only the scientists using it, believe it is monitoring the sun !!!

Your compassionate offering brought a tear to my wife’s eye… it might have been me, but I’m not going to admit that here. Your gracious offer is truly appreciated, and of the memorable moments I have experienced on this site… this will be something I won’t forget !!
My safety is not a big issue where I live, because it is a secluded village in the Yorkshire hills… and sparsely populated compared to most. Biggest problem myself and my neighbours are facing, is “reliable” food supply. Resources are being concentrated more in towns and cities where a greater threat is posed to densely populated regions… probably the same in your country !. I couldn’t resist that coffee joke when responding to Mark recently, but it also made me feel sad, because my own stock of coffee ran out last week… and butter ran out 2 days ago. Got food in the house, but you know those tins of food that everybody has at the back of their cupboards, and been there ages for one reason or another… well, they are starting to look appealing, so things must be bad here lol.
It is amazing how something you take for granted every day, is suddenly unavailable, like butter… gives you a whole different perspective, about how fragile our lives really are !
It is a funny thing Tayrance, feel like we’ve known each other since they invented the wheel… but we never talk much. So I’m making a promise to myself, too get jemmed up about football across your side of the pond, and when this pandemic is over… neither of us will have an excuse not to talk lol
You are a GOOD GUY too… 🙂

I think I have fallen in love with you man lol… you are a true sportsman. You followed the right route to check my post, if updates were delayed through their system, then it is easy to see why you would come to the conclusion that you did. The error was not of your doing, and therefore no apology is required. I think the real issue that was in play, relates to the old adage “new recruit v old soldier”. I’m a little old fashioned in the way I work things out. And then this new guy comes along, and I suddenly find myself struggling to keep up with him… because he works like a T-Rex on steroids. You have got great passion and enthusiasm for this subject, and I feel you will be deservedly rewarded for your efforts.
This whole volcano thing was just a misunderstanding between two people, that have not had enough time to get to know each other. You held your hand up when it was not really of your doing, and by doing so, it shows that you are “considerate” to your fellow forecasters. However, I am also without blame, I made a big thing about something that many would be regarded as trivial. I am kind of struggling a bit with this virus situation we all find ourselves in. My neighbours sister wanted to do her bit to help people during this crisis, and volunteered to join our local church support group. Ten days ago, she brought me a home made cheese and onion pie, and yesterday I found out she was critical in hospital, and had tested positive for Covid-19. As you can appreciate, this was laying a little heavy on my mind yesterday, and you was the unfortunate fellow that I unloaded on. And for this, I am truly sorry for saying things that would not normally have been my nature to do so.
Hey everybody, Mark is a “GOOD GUY”, we can learn from him, and he can learn from us. We are ALL facing something unprecedented in our lives at the moment. So what we are doing here may seem a little menial right now, compared to the sacrifice and sorrow occurring all around us. However, take this thought to heart, this pandemic may take a heavy toll on us before this year is out. But it only took 6 hours for an earthquake in 2004, to wipe out a quarter of a million people… so we have to keep trying !
I think we’re done here Mark… lets go find some earthquakes 🙂
Score: 0115 pts115 ptslesterApril 5, 2020 at 2:14 am #8606Hey Mark, I followed your instructions again and retrieved my kuril islands forecast. It really is a neat trick and wish I new techy stuff like this, but age always catches you, and its always harder to try new things. I am again impressed with your “Inland Southern California” forecast, and you “do note” that I am continuing to be considerate and not interrupting your thread.
Do you know something, and this will really make you laugh. I sent an email to Ben this morning (my time) expressing my concern that you may have gone “missing in action”, because we were having a little bit of a “volcano” issue, and I was feeling terrible, that I may have discouraged you… old timers easily get overcome with emotion and confusion like that. I’m really glad this is not the case, but this is were the confusion bit comes in. I keep asking as politely as I can, if you would either tend to your claim that I posted a non credible “successful proclamation”, regarding Mt Ebeko volcano, and discuss inaccuracies that you believe I submitted. Or hold your hand up, my bad, jumped the gun a bit there without thinking… and then we can move on.
Since the site started, there have been many arguments, disagreements, and dare I say it, the F word has been unprecedently used occasionally. But this has always been within the confines of the forecast board or chat room. Successful proclamations is our place where we hold our own personal records of achievement. A testament to our efforts over days or even weeks of compiling data. And then we eagerly await management (Ben) to asses our contributions, and therefore credit or reject the result we post. It is kinda customary and polite to endorse good results by commending recipient of success with gestures of congratulations. I always do this because I know that a kind acknowledgement goes a long way. Makes others feel like the effort was worth it… a well done, and you get some brownie points. But I don’t recall, and I am sure my fellow forecasters don’t recall, when a Successful proclamation has been discredited by “another forecaster”… especially in this place that makes us feel good on a bad day.
Please try to be considerate and understand that I will no longer be able to post in proclamations until this matter of Mt Ebeko volcano is resolved. It is a matter of principle and therefor I will be unable to post further forecasts. As you get older, there are so few good things in your life, this is one of my passions, it keeps me busy and I use it as escapism from bad situations… especially now that I am trapped at home, due to this evil virus. I try to make other efforts when I convers with others here, make a little light banter with humour. Occasionally make an effort by adding a little US lingo, to try and mix in as one of the guys. Especially as most members here are West Coasters, and can’t speak proper English lol. So this is what I do, and you have shown in such a short time, that you have a lot to offer here… and a method that has direction. I have always been principled in the fact that the science “must” come first if it works… everything else is secondary to something that could eventually save lives. You are on a good course here, as long as you stay your course. Engaging with others is part of why we are here, and opinions are always welcome. But your wording could easily be misinterpreted as conveying borderline belittlements, invoking alternative thinking, and then taking ground that was already established as a prediction… we are not in competition with each other here. . Everybody uses different methods, but I am sure they as keen as I am to see were you go with this. I have not promoted my method too you, mealy given you the option to enquire if you so wished… I believe results should do the talking for you. As I mentioned before, I’m not a West Coaster, I live in Northwest England on the edge of the Yorkshire moors. I do not live with the constant threat of earthquakes like you do, and I have only experienced one in my own country. But I lost close relatives to an earthquake many years ago, and that’s one of the reasons why I am on this playing field with you guys. I have had it pointed out to me many times in the past, that my method of prediction is unconventional… and therefore I am a “left fielder” lol.
Good things happen here, and I was really exited for you when you got that “direct hit” in Syria. I like writing and predicting, and if I can’t do one, then I will have to put more effort into doing the other !!
Thank you Mark… and well done again with your first success on Quake Watch !
